Beautiful work. As always your preoccupation with the perfect circle results in a dense, and incredibly pure piece.. the lack of embellishments and distractions forces the eye to confront the center, and stay there, mesmerized. I love the effect of the white dots on the black, like a reflection of fluorescent lights -- it really emphasizes the smooth, glassy feel of the object. And the watercolor wash in the middle, the bleed between black and white, is also very lovely..

My only concern is with the darkness of the background. Were you working on grey paper? If so, why? It's so dark as to mute the overall image, and while the slight graininess does bring out the image, because there is so much blank space, it does become somewhat distracting. If it was painted on white paper and post-processed digitally, I would reconsider pushing the values so low -- but that may also be a matter of personal preference. I just wonder at the intent behind the choice, is all

Overall a lovely piece, and I'm fascinated by the direction your work is taking -- very excited to see more!
